As Planned, Dave - W7KK and myself activated Mt Ella in DM27 for the 2002 ARRL June VHF QSO party.
After a 7 hour drive from DM09, we arrived at the Caliente Hot Springs Resort at midnight Thursday. The manager was kind enough to leave room #2 unlocked with the key on the dresser, waiting for us.
Grabbing my suitcase, I took a quick shower & crawled into bed dead tired. We slept till 7 AM Friday. After another quick shower we headed into town for breakfast, food, water, & ice. We started the 14 mile climb to the mtn top around noon, arriving at 2PM.
